The poster-making competition was not just an activity but a powerful medium for Shubhankar to express his feelings and thoughts. He received the Appreciation Award in this competition organized by GEMA, which increased his confidence manifold. In this video interaction, Shubhankar shared his journey in detail—how he decided on the theme, how he faced the challenges, and all that he learned.
His poster, Artificial Intelligence (AI), was based on a subject that is very relevant in today’s time. Regarding the poster, he showed the positivity of AI, such as efficiency and speed, while exposing certain negative aspects, such as privacy concerns and human dependence. The mascot wanted to give a message to his poster at the same glance, so he used bold visuals and meaningful symbols.
When making the poster, he first came up with a clear idea, created a thick sketch, and carefully chose each visual element. He kept the design simple but tried to make it impressive. Their equipment was simple—drawing paper, sketch pens, acrylic paints, and markers—but creativity came from his imagination. He said that the thoughts and messages you want to express are more important than the material.
Challenges, Emotions, and Learnings
He faced many challenges during this process—it was not easy to represent a complex theme such as AI. Whenever his views were not clear, he would take a break, research with his father, and take guidance from his art teacher. Shubhankar understands that being stuck is a part of the process and clarity comes from patience and discussion.
When Shubhankar got the news of getting the award, that moment was emotional for him. He first shared this news with his mother, father, and sisters. His mother, Vashali Adha, gave emotional support; his father, Ainash Adhab, kept his confidence high; and his sisters, Ratuja and Shami, kept giving feedback and cheering him up. Art teacher Nita Padnus also contributed a lot to his creative process.
Creativity, Confidence, and Future Message
This was his first international-level win, which led to growth in both his belief and creativity. He has previously won many awards at the local and school level, but this achievement awakened a new passion in him towards art. He said that art is a voice for him—a way to express his thoughts without words.
Shubhankar had a message for all the students: “Don’t be afraid of originality, think new, and have faith in your ideas.” His mother also encouraged all parents to give their children a chance to participate in creative competitions, as it takes their inner talent and self-confidence to a greater level.
