Meet young Adil, Winner of Scratch Olympiad 2025

In today’s world, we all know that creativity and coding travel parallely. To keep pace with today’s world, young and little minds are also paving their way out to innovation. Adil is one of those bright examples. He is a young passionate coder who recently won the winning title at the Scratch Olympiad 2025. In our exclusive session with Campus Highlights, Adil shared his motivating journey with us. From normal games inspiration to development of a water pumping simulator was the highlighted part of the conversation.

Adil then shared the morning when he received the winning news. He mentioned: “It was early, and I thought I was getting scolded when my father called me.” But instead of getting scolded he was informed for that proud email notification – an official notification of his victory at Scratch Olympiad 2025. The echo of disbelief was still felt in his voice.

Adil’s project was based on a simple concept — pumping water — but with a fun twist. Inspired by the simulator games on Roblox, he transformed this basic idea into a competitive and engaging sport-like experience. While it didn’t follow complex logic, he focused on making it enjoyable for users.

The project’s creation also had its own hurdles. One major issue that Adil faced was – sprite lagging due to excessive use of the forever loop. But through continuous experimentation and trying to solve problems, the loop was replaced with a broadcast block, what a great improved performance, isn’t it?

Adil also highlighted that the most interesting part was learning to write more precise and brief code. He particularly enjoyed working with  custom blocks and variables. This  helped Adil create additional features, one of which included a number compressor to display large values more clearly.Learning, Growing, and Creating

Adil’s project had a total span of about three weeks, during which Adil not only coded but also discovered and worked through new ideas. He even sought help from AI tools such as  ChatGPT, which suggested sport-themed elements like weightlifting and competitors to gamify his concept.

His father stood as his strongest supporter, and a few friends acted as beta testers, who all gave him honest feedback about his ideas. Adil’s advice to aspiring coders? “Don’t be afraid. You don’t need a top-tier school to shine. Just don’t give up.”

Adil is definitely unsure about the competition which he will face from the coming year due to high school workloads. Despite this, he is very certain about one thing- his love for creativity. Adil manifests to become a game designer, where his imagination would lead him and which will result in coding following him.

Adil’s father also shared his views —  he described how he noticed his child’s interest in technology early on, giving him an iPad and made him enroll him in various tech platforms like CodeSpark and Time Door Academy. For all fellow parents out there, Adil’s father shared a message which says: “Don’t hesitate to introduce your child to digital tools early — but guide them mindfully toward creative and meaningful use

Adil’s journey is an evidence to the power of embracing creativity, nurturing one’s talent, and exploring platforms like Scratch. He reminds all of us  that with passion, continuous practice, and the right support, even a much simpler idea can lead us through extraordinary outcomes.
We wish Adil all the best for his coming future.
Thank You!
